orange juice recipe
Nothing could be more wonderful than to have some fresh-tasting sweet orange juice all on its own for a healthy beverage or as an addition to all your favorite drink recipes. Now, making orange juice is a simple task even if you do not have a standing juicer. Thus, I will take you through the step-by-step process of preparing orange juice via a blender or mixer.
A glass of freshly prepared cold sweet fruit juice has no match! Over the years I have had the privilege of sharing some of my favorite recipe with you like how to make Pineapple juice Apple juice, Musk Melon juice, and Watermelon juice. All fabulous! Just as classic in its own right is this orange juice recipe.
Oranges are not just tasty. When taken raw in the form of juice, the health benefits derived may well maximize the nutritional gains of the fruit. Each sip comes packed with vitamin C, vitamin A, and a little fiber.
For anyone who has an electric juicer, it is almost effortless to prepare a healthy glass of just about any juice. If you are anything like me, however, without a standing juicer, you might have been slightly reluctant to try squeezing oranges at home.
Well, I'm here to show you that orange juice can be straightforward to make in a mixer or blender-and needing no countertop special gadget
Simply blend peeled orange segments with or without sugar and/or lemon juice, strain a bit, and enjoy! It is equally wonderful to drink as-is or be added to mocktails or smoothies or even some cakes and desserts!
Orange juice: so easy!
1. Peel oranges first. While peeling, be careful to discard the pith and any white layer covering the surface of the orange segments.
Because you may prefer your juice cold, you may put the orange segments in a bowl and chill them in the fridge for 20 to 30 minutes before blending. Add chilled orange segments into the mixie jar or blender jar.
Orange juice and lemon juice benefits:
2. One tablespoon lemon juice may be added. However, feel free to omit it if you'd like. However, I enjoy the tartness balancing the sweetness of the oranges.
It also keeps up a fresh taste for a bit longer while in the fridge, especially if your plan is to chill the juice for some time before actually drinking it-wouldn't want any juice that tastes stale.

3. Mix juice well at low or medium speed for a few seconds until pulpy-orange-crushed.
Just be careful not to blend too long, so that the segments are just crushed and not pulverized with seeds.
4. Place the strainer over a bowl and pour in the juice.

5. Using a spoon, press the pulp against the mesh to strain the juice. This should be done until you extract as much juice as possible into the bowl.

6. When all the juice has been strained, there should remain only the stringy pulp. You need to throw the pulp; it is quite bitter, or you may toss it into the compost.

7. Pour into two nice, tall glasses and serve immediately with orange juice.

At the very outset, fresh Orange Juice made at home will result in a great intake of essential nutrients like Vitamin C, A, and minerals like potassium and folate. It is low in calories too; in fact, if you are not using any extra sweeteners whatsoever, in the case of really sweet oranges, it will be zero calories.
